Highlights of Pytorch Lightning Version 0.7.6
The main highlights of Pytorch Lightning version 0.7.6 include a new Learning Rate Finder, 16-bit precision training support, gradient accumulation across multiple devices, a redesigned Trainer API, and much more. The new Learning Rate Finder is a tool that helps users find an optimal learning rate for training their models and is available in both the CLI and Python API. The 16-bit precision training support allows for faster training speeds and reduced memory usage when compared to 32-bit training. The gradient accumulation across multiple devices is a new feature that enables faster training on large models or data sets by allowing the gradients to be accumulated over multiple devices before being applied to the model. The redesigned Trainer API simplifies the process of creating custom trainers and makes it easier to use advanced features such as checkpointing and early stopping.
Why Upgrade to Pytorch Lightning Version 0.7.6
Pytorch Lightning version 0.7.6 was just released, and there are many reasons why you should upgrade to the new version.
First, Pytorch Lightning 0.7.6 includes many bug fixes and improvements, including support for Python 3.8, Tensorboard 2.0, and Infiniband/RDMA training with NCCL 2.4+.
